Skafo Oy is a company run by one person and operating in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. The company conducts consultations and statutory inspections mainly for companies operating in the construction sector. Behind this small business is Toni Vepsäläinen, who has been using Impact now as an essential part of his daily work for about a year and a half. He is impressed by how Impact is suitable for a small business like Skafo.
– Actually, my company just needed to have a reporting tool that can be used to record work performances. Impact is very handy for this task because I can attach images, text and amounts of time to keep all the data safe; and it’s easy for me to create a comprehensive work report for the customer. My customers have also found the reports created with Impact very usable, Vepsäläinen explains.
Even though Impact was developed with the needs of as many types of companies as possible in mind, using it in a small business is not the most common scenario. However, the idea of using this solution for Skafo’s operations came about easily because Vepsäläinen was already familiar with Impact via previous customers before he became an entrepreneur. He knew from personal experience that Impact’s features can be extensively modified as need be. This is why the transition to using Impact was easy, even though his own use is different from the usual cases.
– I use Impact slightly differently from what it was originally developed for. I have created various customer accounts, targets and various inspection and report templates for them. I have then modified these templates based on my customers’ wishes. For example, when carrying out inspections, I will complete the inspection report I created in Impact and add images there. Later, I will export the report as a PDF file, which I then attach to the customer’s invoice, Vepsäläinen tells.
Toni Vepsäläinen, Entrepreneur
In Skafo’s operations, using Impact has been so easy and clear from the beginning that Vepsäläinen has not felt any need for actual customer support. On those few occasions when he has encountered hick-ups with the system, he has received help from Impact’s customer service. Vepsäläinen welcomes Impact’s continuous development work based on development ideas brought forward by customers, even though he rarely needs to utilise Impact’s latest updates in Skafo’s operations.
Since the adoption of the solution, Impact has proven to be an invaluable tool for a small entrepreneur performing a wide range of tasks at different locations. Vepsäläinen tells that the use of Impact benefits Skafo’s operations in a comprehensive manner, and he even uses it as an ERP system.
– I have also made Impact into a kind of an ERP solution that guides my own work. My work assignments include carrying out annual statutory inspections and drafting inspection records for my customers. I get notifications of these tasks directly from Impact when they are again due, Vepsäläinen explains.
Impact’s ease of use saves Skafo time and effort every single day.
– I can use Impact to create clear and good reports with images that support the text and I can also edit the report templates as necessary. The best of all is that I can do all this with my phone where ever I am, for example at a work site. At its fastest, it takes less than a minute. Also, I can easily continue editing the document later in the office, for example. It is also useful that all data entered into Impact is stored there and can be easily found later, Vepsäläinen says.
Impact has several ready-to-use report templates that can be freely edited to meet one’s own needs. The ready-to-use report templates include:
